Idea sketch for Helsinki Beaugly Facility (Helsinki monster) – 2008

2007, I visited in Helsinki Finland to have an artist residency program. It took a valuable opportunity to see a lot of images that people in different culture created. I was interested in creating vague images. I believed that we were very influenced by many images around us, and I would like to explore and imagine another world through the vague images I created based on what I saw.

I felt that the scenery there was quite unique. By researching around Helsinki, I tried to render impressions from there. They are imaginary structures that originated from a special impression of the locality at that time, such as the buildings, ports, cranes, and sculptures of elk.
