Beaugly Fossils – 2004

Rather than conveying a direct message, my aim was to create sculptures that emerge from a more instinctive, sensory space. By randomly observing and touching nearby objects, I allow whatever image arises in my mind to take form through my hands. As I gaze at the work over time, new images gradually surface, and I layer them onto the original piece, creating something entirely new. This ongoing process transforms the sculpture into a puzzle, where the pieces intertwine and grow, like vines.

The intent was never to craft something grand or conceptual. Instead, it was about seeking something deeper and more personal, a return to the fundamental aspects of creation—shaped through touch and sight. In this way, the work evolves organically, guided by the sensory experience itself.
