Monster project is to terminate children's fear of monster.
I ran an imaginary monster laboratory on a website, www.beaugly.com,
and I also visited a number of kindergartens introducing myself as a researcher at a monster laboratory in order to get images of monsters from children.
In addition to their drawings and explanations, I found their surroundings to be good reference materials. The completed work using these materials and my imagination did not show the monster the children drew, but rather took the form of a confinement device.
Audiences see the monster confinement device created by me and children and imagine their own monsters—modified images— thinking what is shutting up in the device. In addition, the fact that the audiences see the monster confinement device in the exhibition is that there is no monster around the children anymore.
The confinement device is thus a place of play and a means of addressing fears.
